El Zubi to Al-Ghad: The absence of effective institutional coordination weakens the real impact of efforts to modernize food systems.

The international food security expert, Dr. Fadel El Zubi, stated that Jordan possesses the expertise and vision needed to become a regional model in food systems transformation, yet the absence of effective institutional coordination continues to undermine the real impact of ongoing efforts.

He added, “What we see today is that international organizations and the government are working in parallel tracks, without a unified framework to align directions. The result is duplicated projects and weak capacity to measure real impact.” Dr. El Zubi further emphasized that the weakness of the national data infrastructure remains one of the biggest obstacles to sound planning.

He stressed the importance of moving toward innovative financing mechanisms through partnerships with the private sector and green development funds, to secure sustainable sources of funding as an alternative to short-term traditional grants.
