Dr ELZUBI to Al-Ghad: Will Syria once again become the Arabs’ agricultural gateway to Europe?

Dr ELZUBI to Al-Ghad: Will Syria once again become the Arabs’ agricultural gateway to Europe?

Former UN Food Ambassador Dr. Fadel ELZUBI explained that the lifting of the Caesar Act is not merely a legal or political event, but rather an economic transformation capable of redrawing the map of agricultural trade in the region for many years to come.

ELZUBI pointed out that this law had acted as a barrier, depriving Syria of its natural role as a bridge between East and West, and weakening Arab farmers’ ability to access European markets. He emphasized that with restrictions on Syria now lifted, the door has opened to a historic opportunity to rebuild the agricultural trade network and to revive Syria’s role as a key corridor for Arab and Jordanian agricultural products bound for Europe.
