Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Environment, and in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, the Climate Action Network (CAN) organized a national event today, Tuesday, April 28, 2026, to unveil the booklets of the “Climate Monitor” Initiative and launch the accompanying training guide on climate risk management and reduction. The event was held at the main theater of the Royal Cultural Center, with the participation of representatives from government agencies, civil society organizations, universities, schools, and a distinguished group of experts and specialists in the fields of environment and climate change.
This event comes within the framework of Jordan’s ongoing national efforts, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al‑Hussein, to strengthen climate action, integrate it into development pathways, and build communities that are more adaptive and resilient, in line with relevant national strategies.
The program included a specialized critical reading session, during which Dr. Fadel ElZubi, former Head of Mission of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and an international expert in risk management and reduction, delivered an intervention emphasizing the importance of linking awareness with risk management and reinforcing both institutional and community preparedness.
